Hello, my name is Kimberley and with me in the photograph is my certified guide dog, Ursula. Together, we’d like to welcome you to Intuitive Counseling and Wellness. With over 15 years of experience, my belief is that we are the culmination of everything we’ve experienced in life; moments that have brought us great joy and others we’ve worked hard to move beyond. We carry these moments inside us, affecting how we feel, think, and behave.

As humans, we are all born with a set of emotions (i.e. sadness, joy, anger etc) and depending on the combination of biological and environmental circumstances when we are born will determine how we experience these emotions throughout our lives. As humans, we are SUPPOSED to feel these emotions but for many of us, tolerating the way they feel can be almost impossible. The work I do is to utilize the therapeutic relationship to ‘teach’ this.

So many of us operate in the world with narratives and/or feedback loops that are so old they’ve become a default setting in the way we think of ourselves and the world around us. Oftentimes, these loops and narratives aren’t even conscious to us. My role, through conversation with clients, is to bring these loops to the conscious layer. Awareness allows the opportunity for change to take place. Lack of insight/self-awareness; limited or lack of support system; use of coping strategies which interfere with a person’s ability to ‘turn-into their feelings/emotions/thoughts.

My approach to this work is insight-oriented with an emphasis on gaining self-awareness and understanding of the past’s influence on present feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. The deeper we know ourselves, the more likely change is to occur.
